It’s free to get started on Patreon. When you sign up, you’ll have immediate access to powerful features to publish directly to your audience and strengthen relationships with your fans. You can do it all without setting up a separate website, email list, and blog, and add ways to build a business when you’re ready. If you introduce paid options for your fans, Patreon will keep a percentage of earnings (8% for paid membership and 5% for commerce), plus payment processing, currency conversion, payout fees, and applicable taxes. You can publish most types of rich media on Patreon, including native video, audio, images, text, links, and a variety of file attachments. You always own your work and have guaranteed reach of your audience.

Fans can join your community at no cost to get direct access your posts, which they can enjoy in their inboxes or on your creator page. If you add paid options, they can upgrade to become paying members for more benefits.

There are no limits to the number of members you can have in your Patreon community. Creators whose content is safe for all audiences are eligible for early access to let members join for free. After the early access period, we’re committed to enabling all creators to welcome fans for free, including those whose work is for adult/18+ audiences.

The only limitation on feature usage applies to Patreon Video. Eligible creators receive a substantial allocation of free video upload hours (100 hours) at signup, which is more than enough to last most creators for one year. You can use these hours however you’d like, including sharing videos with your members and selling videos through Commerce. As you approach the 100-hour limit, we will provide in-product instructions on how to request more hours. We plan to introduce new pricing for Patreon in 2024 that takes into account the cost of hosting and streaming video natively. For further details on Patreon Video and eligibility, please see here.
